Service Scholarship Program Update |
Nominations
for the 2006 Christian Service Scholarship Awards must be
postmarked by October 1, 2005. The purpose of the program
is to recognize 8th grade students who demonstrate Christ-centered
behavior through voluntary service in their school, church
and community. In order to apply for a scholarship, students
must first be nominated by an adult (other than a family
member) who is aware of their service activity. Click
here for the official nomination form.
Eleven
eighth graders from the Diocese of Phoenix were the most
recent recipients of the awards. At a reception held at the
Diocesan Pastoral Center on April 7, the Most Reverend Thomas
J. Olmsted, Bishop of Phoenix, awarded each student an $8,000
Christian Service Scholarship to assist them in attending
the Catholic high school of their choice. Click

Set and New Venue Announced for 2006 Crozier Dinner |
The
18th Annual Crozier Dinner will be held on Saturday, April
29th, 2006 at The Phoenician in Scottsdale. Colleen Gaia
will chair the event. The Crozier Dinner was established
in 1989 to provide an important annual fundraising vehicle
for the Foundation to further the goals of education, communication
and faith formation. This will mark the seventh time that
The Phoenician has served as the site for the fundraiser,
including the dinner's inaugural year in 1989. Featured entertainment
for the evening will be announced at a later date. At
the 17th Annual Crozier Dinner on April 16, recording star
Tony Orlando won the hearts of guests, but the biggest winners
were the schools, ministries and programs that will benefit
from the evening's proceeds. The dinner, which was held at
the Camelback Inn in Paradise Valley, A JW Marriott Resort,
was attended by more than 750 guests and raised nearly $200,000
to further the Foundation's goals of education, communication
and faith formation. (Click
