Archangel
Gabriel Meditation Garden Dedicated on March 26
The new Archangel Gabriel Meditation Garden in the courtyard of the Diocesan
Pastoral Center was formally dedicated at a ceremony held on March 26th.
It was made possible through the generosity of Michael and Sheila Geddes.
Designed by artist Chris Nelke, the garden features a replica lava stone
sculpture of the Archangel Gabriel that dates back to 1850. Plaques incorporated
into the garden's design will recognize major donors to the Foundation.
At the dedication ceremony, Foundation Chairman Frank Brady welcomed the
guests, Msgr. Dale Fushek along with Michael and Sheila presented the
garden statue, Laura Grafman delivered the Gospel Reading and Bishop Thomas
J. Olmsted blessed the new garden and led the group in prayer.

Jenny
Rathsburg, vocalist and pianist and Anna Clermont, first violinist provided
the musical accompaniment. Guests of the Diocesan Center are invited to
visit the garden to spend a few minutes in reflection and prayer. The
theme of the area conveys both a sense of history, as well as a vision
for the future, to carry on the work of Christ by fostering philanthropy.
The age and general appearance of the sculpture will encourage the viewer
to reflect on the past, recognizing that those living now and those that
have gone before play an important part in advancing the Kingdom of God.

Hough who serves on the Foundation's Estate Planning Committee. Jack tells
the inspiring story of Msgr. Bernard Collins who serves as an outstanding
example of the fact that you don't have to live in the lap of luxury to
benefit from effective estate planning.
