Dcn. James Carabajal, MBA, CGMA, CPA Biography
Deacon James Carabajal is the Chief Executive Officer of the Catholic Community Foundation, where he leads the Foundation in its mission of supporting the Diocese of Phoenix by encouraging philanthropy and providing financial support for education and evangelization. Prior to serving as the Foundation’s CEO, Dcn. James worked in the public accounting/consulting and healthcare industries for nearly 23 years before joining the Foundation as the Chief Financial Officer. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of New Mexico and an MBA from The W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. Dcn. James holds an active Certified Public Accountant Certificate as well as several Diaconal Theology certificates from the University of Notre Dame. Dcn. James is an ordained deacon currently assigned to Our Lady of Mount Carmel serving with Father John Bonavitacola. He previously served the Archdiocese of Santa Fe as an assigned deacon in Albuquerque, NM. Dcn. James and his wife of nearly 30 years, Liz, have five children.
Director of Development
David Pederson Biography
Since 2013, David has served in a development role at the Foundation. Currently as Director of Development for the Catholic Community Foundation, he oversees the development efforts to advance the Foundation’s mission “promoting our Catholic faith by building resources that last beyond our lifetime.”
Before joining the Foundation, David led the fundraising efforts at the All Saints Newman Center at Arizona State University and the St. Thomas More Newman Center at Minnesota State University in Mankato, Minnesota. MSU – Mankato is also where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and where he met his wife, Jenna. Today, they live in Chandler with their four girls and enjoy traveling the country and spending time with family.
Kyle Felix, CPA, CA
Director of Finance and Administration
Kyle Felix, CPA, CA Biography
Kyle Felix is the Director of Finance and Administration at the Foundation. Kyle is responsible for ensuring the financial reporting and information is accurate and complete. This ensures the information is appropriately interpreted and provides useful information for decision making. Kyle also handles the administrative aspect of the Foundation, including hiring, payroll and process management.
Kyle received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business with a major in accounting from the University of Saskatchewan (Canada). Kyle is certified as a CPA in Canada and the United States for six years and three years, respectively. Kyle and his wife, Meghann, live in Mesa with their daughter, Averie, and they enjoy the outdoors and going to the pool. Kyle is a sports fanatic, and more specifically, a Philadelphia Eagles loyalist. Feel free to give him a hard time!
Communications and Fundraising Officer
Chrissy Pate Biography
Chrissy Pate is the Communications and Fundraising Officer. She does a wide range of activities from event planning, social media, program support and Foundation’s communications. Chrissy has been will be with the Foundation for five years. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Print Journalism from Arizona State University and has a minor in Business. She has 16 years of experience in communications and program management. Chrissy and her husband, Keith, live in Mesa with their daughter, Isabelle and dog, Oscar. They enjoy attending sporting events, especially at ASU.
Development Services Officer
Kristi Perry Biography
Kristi Perry is the Development Services Officer and works closely with both the Development and Finance teams on a variety of projects and programs, including scholarships, funds, gifts, donor stewardship, process development, and data integrity. Kristi joined the Catholic Community Foundation team in August 2017. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from Arizona State University and has 14 years of professional experience, mostly in the non-profit healthcare industry. Kristi and her husband, Steven, live in Anthem with their two children, Emma and Grayson. They enjoy seeing movies and going to Disneyland together.
Director of Fundraising
Lynn Donahue Biography
Lynn Donahue is the Director of Fundraising and serves as the key contact person for Catholic Leadership Circle members, Christian Service Award Benefactors and Gala sponsors. Prior to joining CCF, Lynn was the Development Director at Saint Mary’s Catholic High School and has previously worked in the development offices of Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art and the Heard Museum. Lynn is also a past chair of the Bishop’s Crozier Dinner. She attended the University of Colorado at Denver and has made Phoenix her home for over 30 years. She and her husband Greg have two grown children and recently became grandparents. Besides being passionate about supporting the mission of the Catholic Community Foundation, Lynn is a member of the Arizona Columbine Garden Club and an avid golfer and hiker.
Violet Aird Biography
Violet is the Administrative Assistant who works within the Foundation to provide a level of ease with excellence in customer service. With more than 15 years of experience in the hospitality, human services and non-profit industries, she has a proven track record of senior level executive support, management and training. She has a strong ability to streamline processes, maximize efficiency and foster professional relationships within the Foundation as well as with esteemed partners.
With education in theology, her passion and studies focus on social work through Asbury University. Her philosophy centers around the role she can play in helping others. On her off-time, she enjoys spending time with her family, photography, amateur graphic design and going to the movies.
Tyler Greuel Biography
Tyler Greuel recently graduated from Edwards School of Business with distinction. In the summer, he worked at a small accounting firm, as an auditor, that focused their auditing efforts on First Nations Bands financial statements. Tyler is eager to work for CCF because it presents a unique opportunity to learn different accounting practices than the standard accounting firm can offer. He hopes he can make contributions to the Foundation that will leave a lasting impact within the community.
